Looking for a Few Good & Strong Men

I am the book tent coordinator. Station 1 is full again and I need to move book boxes out of the fire house and into a storage area near the intersection of Prospect and Overland Trail. Unfortunately, I have not been able to find storage on the mountain. A company I do contract work for is allowing me to store the book boxes until the festival. I need guys and gals who can help move the books on to trailers and trucks and then drive down to the storage building and unload.
Since the fire house is already full and we are sorting on Friday, I need to move these boxes sooner than ASAP. I would like to move them this coming Saturday, July 1, 2017around 9 AM. Yes, I know it is the 4th of July weekend and some people are going on vacation or have plans but this needs to be done and I just found the storage building on Thursday.

More About Bears

Probably the largest black bear I've seen was on my neighbors deck this morning.
It wasn't afraid of the dogs or her yelling at it.
She was trapped inside as he wouldn't leave so she called me and I responded.
When I drove up to the house it walked off the deck and then returned.
I approached the deck and it stood there staring at me and finally wandered off.
I would consider it dangerous as usually noise will send them scurrying
This occurred at 12000 Rist Canyon Rd. just across from station 1 RCVFD

Puppies and Bears

I used the rcvfd web site for this puppy we found, but saw no way to add the pictures I took of her.
I heard her crying and found her by the flatbed truck we park in the upper driveway. (Buckhorn Road)
She had covered herself in cockleburs, to the point of misery. We've gotten most of them out.

A bear was photographed breaking into a cabin in the Moody Park Ranch Subdivision. This is an occasional issue which most of us know how to handle as long as we're not home. In this case, however, it appears that the bear appeared to be injured. Its left rear leg was bent at a strange angle and it appeared that something may have happened to it on its rear right quarter section. Bottom line, treat it as a wounded animal and keep your distance.

Bear in Trash

Hello Neighbors and friends,

At approximately 7:15 AM, today, I saw a brown bear digging in the trash bin, at 13075 Rist Canyon Road. Be careful. Another wonderful neighbor gave my dog and I a ride well past the bear.

Take good care,
Michele Yarberry, LPC, NCC, RPT

Mail Theft

Someone is rifling through the mail boxes dumping mail on the side of the road or putting it in someone else’s box. If this has happened to you, please report it to the Postal Inspection Service 1-877-876-2455 or USPS.COM under “other USPS sites” at the bottom of the page. Contact the sheriff’s department also at (970) 498-5100. The inspection service told Tracy Saturday that no one had reported any problems to them….please, please do. Customers have brought in mail and we have returned what we could; however, there were two empty envelopes from the Colorado Department of Revenue and a mother’s day card. If you have grandkids named James, Taylor, Kaylee, and Elijah; I have your card (no envelope). Locking mail boxes can be purchased at Home Depot for about $100.00 put one up if you can. If this option isn’t available to you, pick up your mail as soon as you can. The post office also has PO boxes that are available to rent. These people are hard to catch so if you see something report it and let me know (970) 482-5200.

Thanks everyone for your help!
